Kinetic Expressions Dance Academy is proud to offer newly-designed
Dancer Development Tracks of Study
to enhance your learning of the Art of Dance

These groupings are training programs for both the serious or
recreational dancer, catered to each student's individual needs.

Students will adhere to a dress code in order to maintain uniformity
and organization, optimizing their training experience.
Dress code leotards and a variety of tights are available in our Boutique.

THE DEMI TRACK
This class is for pre-school age students ages 2 through 4 who are just
discovering the world of dance!  The students study the fundamentals of
Ballet and Tap through creative and authentic technique
movements, 'story-dance' and dress-up fun.  All French terminology for
Ballet terms will be used for the optimum dance experience.

THE PETITE TRACK
This class is an excellent program for any ages between 4 through 7.
The program is a combination class where the students
can study Ballet, Tap and Acro.
This class emulates the higher levels of dance study with a
warm-up, across-the-floor exercises and learning simple combinations,
but the students still can enjoy dress-up fun and creative movement.
Hip-Hop is also offered to to this group of students -- Baby Bop Hip-Hop!

THE PIQUÉ TRACK
These classes are designed for students ages 6 through 10, with previous
training in dance fundamentals.  Students are required to take Ballet and Tap,
with a minimum of one other class of their choice, such as Jazz,
Musical Theater, Acro, Hip-Hop, Lyrical and Stage Acting.
Reinforcement classes like our Bonus Ballet (an extra hour of weekly study in this most valuable technique), our Leap + Turn Clinic and Body Conditioning are also available. In the Piqué group, the focus is on learning correct technique and performance basics.

THE PIROUETTE TRACK
In this grouping, students 8 and up must have at least three years of previous training in dance fundamentals, technique and performance basics.
Students must take Ballet, Tap and Jazz, with a minimum of one other class of their choice, such as Musical Theater, Acro, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Stage Acting,
Leap + Turn Clinic, Body Conditioning and Bonus Ballet (an extra hour of weekly study in this most valuable technique).
The Pirouette group focuses on gaining flexibility and
advancing technique and performance skills.

THE ARABESQUE TRACK
In this group, students can have limited dance experience but still enjoy professional training at an older age (10 and up).  Students can choose their classes in a group of four, as in the Pirouette Group, or choose a favorite class or two à la carte.  In this track of study, classes offered are as follows:
Ballet, Demi-Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theater, Acro, Hip-Hop, Lyrical,
Stage Acting, our Leap + Turn Clinic, Body Conditioning and Bonus Ballet
(an extra hour of weekly study in this most valuable technique).
The Arabesque Track focuses on gaining flexibility, becoming more familiar with different techniques and honing performance skills.

THE ADAGIO TRACK
This group is for dancers deemed intermediate to advanced by KEDA's Director. Students must have several years of previous dance and performance training.  The Adagio group will cater to students who cannot take a full course load of technique classes and are welcome to choose their classes à la carte.
In this group, classes offered are as follows: Ballet + Pointe (a 90-minute class),
Demi-Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theater (new for this track this season!),
Acro, Hip-Hop, Stage Acting, Horton Modern, Contemporary,
our Leap + Turn Clinic, Body Conditioning and Bonus Ballet
(an extra hour of weekly study in this most valuable technique).
The Adagio Track focuses on gaining and maintaining flexibility, body control, refining technique and understanding music and rhythm.

THE ALLÉGRO TRACK
This group is very similar to the Adagio Track for advanced dancers,
as students must have several years of previous dance
and performance training, but need to take a full course load
(at least 5 technique classes a week) and have their chosen curriculum
approved by KEDA's Director in order to be considered for this group.
Allégro students must take Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Contemporary, plus
at least a fifth class from the choices stated above in the Adagio Track.
Training in every technique is strongly recommended, so these students have the opportunity to study ALL of the techniques offered, as KEDA understands that an advanced dancer must be knowledgeable in all styles of technique.  This group focuses on maintaining flexibility, mastering body control and technique; most importantly, refining performance skills so that technique translates to stage.

Please note that although highly advanced students may stay in a track just one year before moving up, each KEDA student can expect to be in each track offered for 2 - 3 years for maximum technique and performance training.
